Stories in Place

One of the key learnings coming out of the coronavirus is on adaptation - life is not how it used to be and while some stare longingly at how things were others are executing a crash course in adaptation and survival.

That idea is both the reason and the subject of Stories in Place.
Vimeo, who has some of best filmmaking content online with their Vimeo Staff Picks, created a grant system where staff-picked filmmakers could apply for grants to tell the stories of small businesses navigating life in a pandemic.
After awarding the grant each filmmaker had 12 days to tell their chosen story and each grant was then matched by a donation to the featured small business.

From a sea urchin fisherman worried about global supply chains to an LA salon owner giving virtual haircut tutorials, the stories are beautiful studies of disrupted lives playing out all across the world right now.
